Earth Day was started in 1970 and is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide, events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

Lake Mohawk Celebrates 4th Earth Day Clean Up- April 21, 2018

The Lake Mohawk Preservation Foundation is sponsoring an Earth Day Clean Up in and around the Lake Mohawk area in Sparta NJ. During this event, teams of participants clean up trash and debris along the roads. This trash and debris not only looks bad, it is bad for the environment and the wildlife. Pre-Event Celebration & Earth Day Clean Up

We will be having our pre-event celebration at the Members Room in the Lake Mohawk country club at 5pm on 4/20 (finger foods and a cash bar will be available for all)!

On 4/21, starting at 8:30am, we will be kicking off annual Earth Day cleanup. Come get involved for our fourth year, get the kids out and experience a sense of community and cleaning up Lake Mohawk for the upcoming spring and summer, while improving our lakes and streams!

All supplies are given out on Friday and Saturday morning for volunteers! So, create a team, come alone, bring the family, whatever yo have to do, just come hang out and let’s keep Lake Mohawk beautiful!
