Attendees at our Annual Lake Preservation Recognition Celebration were treated to a wonderful evening at LMCC thanks to our volunteers and sponsors. There was music, a slideshow and catering by LMCC. Club member Gene DePrez, former LMCC president, was honored this year with the Fran Smith Lake Preservation Award; and Happy Valley Beach and their volunteers were awarded our Lake Preservation Award for Organizational Leadership. We were treated to pictures of Gene from the “early years” as well as remarks from our awardees and Foundation leadership. As we begin the new year with new funds in our coffers, we look forward to providing additional benefits to our lakes and to our community in 2019.
This event happened because of our generous sponsors. Donating at the Princess White Deer Club level was The Atkinson Family Foundation. We thank them for supporting our efforts as the lead sponsor of our celebration. Dean Reinauer and Tom Murray joined us at the Explorers of the Wallkill level of giving. We thank them and also wish to thank our Fran Smith Boardwalk Council level co-sponsors: Gene and Patty DePrez, Beach 6, and Jack and Laura Parker.
Our Foundation trustees were “all hands on deck” for this event. These volunteers are working hard to raise funds to assist in protecting and sustaining our lakes and the Wallkill River watershed. Your donations are welcome at any time and can be made by check to Lake Mohawk Preservation Foundation, 21 The Boardwalk, Sparta, NJ 07871, or through Pay Pal on our website lakemohawkpf.org The foundation is a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization.
