Earth Day Cleanup

Lake Mohawk’s Annual Earth Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, marking the ninth consecutive year that residents of Lake Mohawk and local organizations have come together for a unified environmental cleaning effort (and celebration event).

The event is proudly sponsored and coordinated by the Lake Mohawk Preservation Foundation. Our objective is to clean up winter’s mess, protect lake water quality by preventing pollution in and around the lakefront, and bring together the young and older generations in a communal effort to keep Lake Mohawk a great place to live.

We anticipate that the efforts of 80 to 100 volunteers or more within the community will positively impact the Lake Mohawk community. Each year, a significant number of bags of trash recyclables are collected from the roads, streams, and water lines.

On April 22, registration is from 7:30 am to 11:00 am in the LMCC parking lot. Refreshments and supplies (trash bags, gloves, safety vests) are available.

Participants and teams select a section of the road or common area for cleanup. The LMPF members will collect the bags of garbage and recycling left by participants on the Lake Mohawk roads.
